Here in Saguenay, we like to get together and have fun! Throughout the year, the city is bustling with sporting, cultural and recreational activities. In Saguenay, there is always something to do! Fun fact: Saguenéens love fresh cheddar. Many like to go to the Fromagerie Boivon on Sundays to buy “squish squish” cheese fresh out the factory. They eat this on the way home while it’s still hot, along with a nice Red Champagne.

The Chicoutimi Saguenéens hockey team, member of the Québec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (formally known as the Québec Major Junior Hockey League) is Saguenay’s crown jewel. Located 211 km north of Québec City, Saguenay lies on the banks of the only navigable fjord in North America. Between Saguenay and Tadoussac, the Saguenay fjord is one of the 10 longest fjords in the world with its 105 km of length and its 350 m tall walls.
The Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay offers 170 km of hiking trails to explore, some of them less than 15 minutes from the city! You can also go kayaking, paddleboarding, camping or practise many other open-air activities.
